Late last fall I announced some major changes coming to the Pixels to Pages Classroom and I am really excited to share with you today what those are.
First, a little bit of history.
`
In 2018, I introduced S.W.A.P.–Scrapbooking with Affinity Photo for iPad, which turned out to be a tremendous success. The class included over 30 video tutorials and an exclusive kit designed by The Practical Scrapper, Meagan Johnson. It offered digital scrapbookers all they needed to transition from creating scrapbook pages in Photoshop or Photoshop Elements on their computer to a mobile setup. However, in 2023, I had to discontinue the class because the developers of Affinity released a major update to the entire Affinity line of desktop software and apps, rendering the S.W.A.P. videos outdated.
While the class was extremely popular, there were a few students who wrote expressing how overwhelmed they felt with the amount of content the class contained and struggled to get through all of it. So when it came time to release a class for Affinity Photo V2, I decided to take a more a la carte approach, by offering different courses for Affinity Photo for iPad based on what features students wanted to learn about. This what you currently see in the classroom today. The plan was to add many more to the classroom, but my time and resources were stretched thin. Developing classes alongside creating digital kits for my shop was just a little too much. Something had to give. I closed the shop so I can solely focus on class development.
Over the past few months, I’ve been rethinking how to better serve my students while making my role as an instructor more effective. I realized that the à la carte structure wasn’t the best fit—having everything in one comprehensive class is far more beneficial for both students and myself.
I also noticed that open enrollment wasn’t ideal. The most excitement and engagement happen when a class first launches, but students who joined months later often missed out on that energy, making it harder to stay motivated. Moving forward, all new classes will have a limited enrollment period, closing just before the class officially goes live.
Here’s what that means for current and upcoming classes in the Pixels to Pages Classroom:
Enrollment in The Basics Class. The BYOL Class, The Effects Studio Class, and Text Studio Class will close February 28th. Does that mean the content students paid for will be going away? ABSOLUTELY NOT. I repeat, if you are currently enrolled in any of those classes mentioned, you will still have access to the content–videos, handouts, class kits, and class chat rooms. They are not going away. I am just ending enrollment in those classes. This is to get ready for the new way classes will now be structured.
Beginning March 1, enrollment will begin in S.W.A.P.–Scrapbooking With Affinity Photo (for iPad) Masterclass. Enrollment will close April 3. Students will have access to all course material Friday, April 4. Enrollment into the class will not open again until December 1, 2025 those new students will gain access to the course January 1st, and those who already enrolled in the course will have access to all the new material and new kits/templates as well!
Here’s how this approach benefits you:
Learn at Your Own Pace: Once you enroll, you’ll have lifetime access to the class content and any future updates. You can work through the material whenever it fits into your schedule, without any pressure or deadlines.
Exclusive Live Events: While the class is self-paced, the first month is packed with live Q + A Zoom calls to keep the excitement high and help you get the most out of your learning experience. These live sessions are a chance to dive deeper, ask questions, and connect with me and your fellow students.
A Supportive Community: You’ll be joining a group of like-minded memory keepers, all eager to learn and grow alongside you. This shared experience fosters encouragement, inspiration, and a sense of belonging.
Ongoing Access to Me: Even after the Q + A sessions wrap up, I’m always here to answer your questions via email or direct message. Whether you’re stuck on a technique or just need some guidance, you’ll never feel like you’re on your own.
Focused, High-Quality Content: Because the class is only open to enrollment once a year, I’ve put everything into making it a truly special experience for you. From comprehensive tutorials, digital kits, and templates, you’ll have all the tools you need to become confident in using Affinity Photo for iPad to document your photos + stories into beautiful scrapbook pages.
This class is bigger, deeper, and packed with value, which means it’s going to be priced higher than my previous offerings. I wanted to give you a heads-up so you can start planning ahead—maybe even set aside a little “creative fund” over the next couple of months. Trust me, this class will be worth every penny, and I can’t wait to help you take your memory-keeping skills to a whole new level For more information about the Scrapbooking with Affinity Photo for iPad Masterclass (including pricing), click the link below!
